The mission of the Titusville Council on the Arts(TCA) is to s%u019fmulate, encourage, expand, and support the prac%u019fce, apprecia%u019fon, and understanding of the performing and visual arts. In addi%u019fon to their evolving programming, TCA hosts free Concerts in the Park on summer Monday nights at Scheide Park. Live bands perform folk, rock, country, bluegrass, and more.Titusville Summer Theater stages a musical each summer at Colestock Auditorium and has recently added old %u019fme radio shows to their repertoire.Titusville Iron Works has fast become a nigh%u01abme hot spot in the Oil Region with regular live music from a variety of acts including na%u019fonal touring cover bands and original ar%u019fsts. The space itself is historic. A former iron factory from the oil boom, it contains numerous museum-quality installa%u019fons of vehicles, including a restored trolley car, equipment, photos, neon signs, and mid-century furniture perfect for breaks from the dance floor. Tarbell Teas are a favorite way to step back in %u019fme. Hosted at the fully restored 1870 Italianate teenage home of inves%u019fga%u019fve journalist Ida Tarbell, student re-enactors from her alma mater, Titusville High School, serve a mul%u019f-course tea as historical figures from Titusville%u2019s past. Ar%u019fsts from across the country have relocated here, a%u01a9racted by the low real estate prices and strong commitment to the arts. Many work and exhibit in the second-floor Na%u019fonal Transit Studios, which are open to the public by appointment, for special events, and during open studios scheduled throughout the year. The Oil Valley Center for the Arts offers classes through Oil Creek Earthworks Studio. Graffi%u019f Gallery and the Transit Art Gallery are non-profit galleries showcasing the work of local and regional ar%u019fsts.First Night%u00ae Oil City, a family-friendly celebra%u019fon with numerous concerts and a parade, is held every New Year%u2019s Eve. Oil City offers a robust live music scene. A Bluegrass Fes%u019fval is held in February. In the summer%u019fme, free outdoor entertainment includes Music on the Square, Pipeline Alley Concerts, and addi%u019fonal performances during the city%u2019s BridgeFest and in Justus Park along the banks of the Allegheny River. The Venango Museum of Art, Science, and Industry also hosts concerts throughout the year. Oil City Community Playhouse produces quality drama%u019fc produc%u019fons with local talent. The group is renova%u019fng the Lyric Theatre, a downtown performance space from the early 1900s, to its former glory. The Venango County Makerspace at 100 Seneca is filled with specialty tools and equipment such as 3D and large format printers for the use of its member ar%u019fsts, inventors, %u019fnkerers, and entrepreneurs of all skill levels. The Makerspace provides hands-on workshops, fun events, opportuni%u019fes to network with other crea%u019fves, and room to work on individual projects. 22ARTS & CULTURE
