Oil Region National Heritage Area | The Valley that Changed the World

Just for Pets

We want furbabies to enjoy their time in the Oil Region, too.

For some people, pets are part of the family, and we want furbabies to enjoy their time in the Oil Region, too.

The Witherup House B&B, Peddlers and Paddlers B&B, and Super 8 Hotel in Franklin are pet-friendly, as are all Franklin city parks. Franklin also celebrates pets each September with the annual Pet Fest.

Dogs are welcome at Two Mile Run County Park and Oil Creek State Park, which includes a lot of our trails, but dogs must be on leashes at all times.

If your furry friend gets a little muddy on the trail, the Cranberry 10 Minute Oil Change has a Pet Wash, complete with ramp, tub and sprayer at 6985 US Rt. 322, Cranberry, PA 16319. There is a cost to use this facility.

If more pampering is in order, check out The Barking Lot at 405 S. Franklin Street in Titusville. They offer grooming services, but if you need a place to leave your pet while you’re traveling, they also offer doggie day care and boarding services. Get details from their website or call 814.775.0568.

Details about horseback riding in the Oil Region can be found on the Tourism page, under Outdoor Recreation — Equestrian Trails.
